I believe dogs can feel when their owners are happy or sad. A great example of this happened the other day at my in-laws.

There was a family funeral that we were watching online. With tears in our eyes, the pastor asked us to bow our head in prayer.

Baxter, my father-in-law’s dog, was sitting beside me. At that moment, he put his paws in my lap, and bowed his head as if he was praying too. My husband was humbled by this emotion, and snapped a picture.

No doubt, Baxter could feel the sadness in our hearts and he was right there to comfort us in our tears.
